Mmm maybe a lot of you know this song. It is not a new one. But I think it is the best one. Not only the melody but also the meaning of this song is great. However, the secrets on this lyric make me so suspicious why this song is so special? Every song has story, so this is the story of Fix You:
This song is about singer Chris Martin as a vocalist of Coldplay who is trying to comfort his wife, Gwayneth Paltrow who had deal with the death of her father. In USA Today Martin mentioned that his father-in-law Bruce Paltrow had purchased a large keyboard before his death and had never played it. Martin said that upon plugging in the keyboard for the first time an incredible noise came out Martin used that as inspiration for the song. Chris wrote this song for Gwayneth after her father died. She came home from the hospital covered and drenched in tears, and he started crying and asked her, “What can I do for you? Tell me how I can do?” and she looked up at him, and said “just hold me…cause you’re the only thing that can fix me right now”. And that was that-he wrote the song next day.
The need to try and fix the problem of someone you love rings out in this song. To see someone you love hurting causes pain and frustration, and for most men there is an intense desire to try and fix problem. Sometimes that is not possible and that theme shines clear in the lyrics of the song when Martin says “And I will try to fix you”
I personally think that this song is clearly romantic though the words on this lyric are not pretty romantic (atau kalo bahasa indonesianya liriknya gak ngegombal gitu). But the meaning of these words is so luxurious especially for the girl who is hurting. If you hear this song, you’ll imagine that someone out there will fix you. He will wipe out your tears and make you comfort when everything is going bad. I really like and appreciate much for what Chris martin do for his someone loved (gak kampungan gak alay atau lebay tapi bener-bener menenangkan hati). I think it is just an example what everyman have to do ☺ hehehe
